Swarthmore Fire & Protective Association Report (November 30 - December 13)

In this two-week period, the ambulance responded to 31 calls for medical assistance, to Swarthmore, Rutledge, Morton, Springfield, Media, Nether Providence Township, and Ridley Township. The calls were for a variety of emergencies, including respiratory emergency (COVID-19), hypotension (COVID-19), unconscious person, semi-conscious person, pediatric emergency, change in mental status, heart failure, and a suicide attempt.

The calls were for a variety of emergencies, including respiratory emergency, abdominal pain, hemorrhaging, an unconscious person, and a change in mental status.

Swarthmore Fire & Protective Association Report (June 29 - July 12)

800 Avondale Road, Nether Providence Township. Dispatched as “working mechanical room fire.” Firefighters discovered a trash compactor on fire next to the mechanical room. The blaze was quickly extinguished, primarily with tank water,* although supply lines were laid and hose connected to the building’s fire department connection.† Additional units came from the Garden City and South Media fire departments.

Swarthmore firefighters were called to the site of a gas leak in Nether Providence Township on June 22. A contractor had struck a six-inch gas line while drilling for electric utilities installation. Gas was exiting the pipe under 20 lbs. of pressure – sufficient to blow dirt and other debris from the hole six feet into the air.

The calls were for a variety of emergencies, including respiratory difficulty (COVID-19), cardiac emergency, diabetic emergency, elevator rescue, overdose, laceration, pediatric emergency, and dead on arrival.

The calls were for a variety of emergencies, including cardiac emergency, choking, seizures, hypertension, a fall, head injury, psychiatric emergency, syncopal episode, respiratory difficulty, tachycardia, pediatric emergency, and extreme pain.

The calls were for a variety of emergencies, including cardiac emergency, accident, overdose, hemorrhaging, seizures, hypertension, fall, fracture, lift assist, head injury, abdominal pain, and laceration.
