In this two-week period, the ambulance responded to 15 calls for medical assistance, to Swarthmore, Rutledge, Morton, Springfield, and Nether Providence Township. The calls were for a variety of emergencies, including respiratory difficulty, pediatric emergency, back pain, fall with trauma, a fracture, and a person under a fallen tree.
In addition, the fire company responded to:
Six automatic alarms.
Six building alarms, including one to the 600 block of Morris Lane in Nether Providence for a building fire with people trapped inside; a barbecue grill and propane tank on fire on the 900 block of Greenbrier Lane in Springfield; and a bathroom filling with smoke on the 100 block of Thompson Avenue in Springfield.
Two brush alarms, including for a branch on fire over the Media-Elwyn line SEPTA tracks.
One hazmat alarm.
Six wire alarms, including one for a tree that fell across the 400 block of N. Chester Road onto a car, with the tree’s top branches lying across electrical wires.
13 mutual aid calls to Morton-Rutledge, Nether Providence Township, and Springfield Township.
