I read that a luxury, five-story condominium complex is planned to replace the buildings on 102/104 Park Ave. and 110/112 Park Ave. Here is my serious and urgent request to council not to approve these plans.
I was shocked to see that the much-treasured newspaper of my beloved Swarthmore would splash the washing of dirty linen, namely a personal dispute between two council members, on its front page.
Don’t you think it is time to vet all men and women who are running for president, as is done for all those nominated to be cabinet members? Congress could run background checks.
Enough with the Trump bashing. It’s the Republicans in Congress who are going along with him - because of the tax cuts for the rich and his Supreme Court choices -who should be pilloried.
Recently, I was very fortunate to get a tour of Nick’s House at 200 South Chester Road, at the corner of Harvard Avenue. Cheryl Colleluori, Nick’s mom and president of the house, led two friends and me through the building. Nick, who succumbed to cancer in 2006 at the age of 21, founded the charitable, non-profit Headstrong Foundation with a vision to help people stricken by his disease.
