Clemency for James Taylor

Clemency for James Taylor

To the Editor,

This letter is in response to Judith Trustone’s heartbreaking letter to the editor in the May 14 issue of The Swarthmorean. Like Judith, I have been a prisoner advocate for decades, and I second her request that people write letters to the Board of Pardons at 333 Market Street, Harrisburg, PA 17126 and ask them to grant James Taylor (AF-4120) a hearing for clemency. A former member of People Advancing Reintegration, I met James at Graterford Prison a few times and can verify his positive influence on many, many people. He is a good man and definitely deserves freedom after 50 years of incarceration. The letter can be short; the number of them received is what counts.  And yes, I sent a letter to Harrisburg last week!

Thank you,

Gudrun Weinberg
