Police Blotter from Swarthmore Police Chief Raymond C. Stufflet - June 29-July 12

Police went to the 100 block of S. Chester Rd. in response to a report of a motor vehicle crash; there were no reported injuries. When the police arrived, both cars were pulled to the side of the road. The officer on the scene investigated, and determined that one of the cars had been traveling south on S. Chester Rd., when the driver reportedly became distracted, swerved into the northbound lane, and struck the rear driver’s side of a northbound car. Both cars sustained minor damage but were able to be driven from the scene.

Police responded to the Strath Haven and Rutgers avenues for a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles. At the completion of the investigation, it was determined that one car was traveling east on Strath Haven Ave. crossing the intersection with Rutgers Ave. The driver of this car became distracted, and struck an unoccupied, parked car on Rutgers Ave., just east of the intersection. There were no injuries reported but the striking car had to be towed from the scene because of front end damage.
