Accidents
October 14, 4:25 p.m.: A driver was attempting to pull out of a space in a parking lot in the 800 block of Yale Avenue when their foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator. The car struck a retaining wall and was slightly damaged. No one was hurt, and the car was able to be driven from the scene.
October 16, 1:30 p.m.: Two cars were driving north on North Chester Road when the front car stopped at the light at Swarthmore Avenue. The rear car tried to stop but slipped on the wet roadway, hitting the first car. Both cars sustained minor damage but were able to be driven from the scene. No one was hurt.
Other
A resident of the 600 block of North Chester Road called the police because they saw two men inside the resident’s cars. The men were of unknown race and wearing dark clothing, and were last seen entering a white sedan and driving toward Baltimore Pike. Nothing was taken, and no damage occurred. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Swarthmore Borough Police.
Alarms
Police responded to six alarm calls, including fire alarms, panic alarms, and false burglar alarms.
Medical Emergencies
Police responded to 12 medical emergencies, assisting medics and the Swarthmore ambulance.
