Accidents
October 30, 7 p.m.: Two cars were driving south on South Chester Road approaching Fairview Road when the front car stopped for the red traffic light. The second car failed to stop in time and hit the first car. No one was hurt, and both cars were driven from the scene.
October 30, 10:03 p.m.: A car pulled into a driveway in the 400 block of Vassar Avenue to turn around. Backing out, it twice struck a parked car, then left the scene. The police found the driver and cited them for violating Pennsylvania’s hit-and-run law. No one was hurt, and no major damage was done to either car.
November 2, 2:33 p.m.: A car traveling east on Ogden Avenue stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of North Chester Road. When it pulled into the intersection, it struck a car heading south on North Chester Road. No one was hurt, and both cars were driven from the scene.
November 4, 8:02 a.m.: A car driving east on College Avenue entered the intersection with North Chester Road when the light was green, only to be hit by a southbound car that had run the red light on North Chester Road. Both cars suffered disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene. No one was hurt.
Alarms
Police responded to 19 alarm calls, including fire alarms, panic alarms, and false burglar alarms.
Medical Emergencies
Police responded to 20 medical emergencies, assisting medics and the Swarthmore ambulance.
