Occasionally Yours customers always generous

The Occasionally Yours family wants to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who participated in our First Responder Fundraiser last Friday. By the end of the day, with your support, we had prepared a total of 283 dinners and were able to contribute $2,000 to the Swarthmore Fire & Protective Association (SFPA). Your generosity gave us the opportunity to give back to a very worthy cause.

Thanks for the putts!

On Sunday, January 26, CADES was transformed into an international world of indoor winter putt putt fun with a super turnout from the community (640 golfers), help from 150 plus volunteers, and 18 groups of brilliant mini golf hole makers. The festivities included more than 50 raffle baskets donated by local groups such as the Community Arts Center, Vicki’s Place, the Inn at Swarthmore, and the Philadelphia Eagles, to name just a few.

Music for patients

Just Roses (Annie Fetter, Cindy Chadderdon, Nikki Hansen, and Sue Hunt) want to thank all who came out Saturday night to support their annual benefit concert at waR3house3 for Musicians on Call. A total of $400 was raised to support this amazing program which brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities.

Help Luminaria light the way

The Luminaria Fundraiser will be beginning very soon, which supports the ABC Strath Haven house in Swarthmore and other students in need from WSSD. The effort of dozens of volunteers culminates in a beautiful display of curbside luminaria the evening of January 1, 2020. We have noticed that a few areas are short of a Block Captain, and that’s where we need your help.

Mitten Tree time

The Swarthmore Public Library will soon be having its annual Mitten Tree. Donations of new mittens, gloves, blankets, scarves and hats, or money to buy similar items will be gratefully accepted at the library from October 15 through December 11.

It pays to BBQ

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Co-op this past Saturday at the BBQ Fundraiser. Your food purchases and donations added up to $3,206.02 that will be used to renovate the existing café space in the Co-op.

The Swarthmore community and beyond came together on Saturday, July 27, to raise money to help the children at the southern border of the United States. The Children of the Wind fundraiser, sponsored by Young People’s Theatre Workshop, was able to raise $6,400 for the children through music, financial donations, and the generosity of spirit of all involved.
