Report from the Fire Company: April 22 through May 5, 2019
From April 22 through May 5, 2019, the Swarthmore Fire & Protective Association responded to the following alarms:
EMS
The ambulance responded to 32 calls for medical assistance. These were to Swarthmore, Rutledge, Morton, Springfield, Ridley Township, and Nether Providence Twp. The calls were for a variety of emergencies including: fall w/ trauma, sick person, respiratory difficulty, cardiac emergency, head injury, pediatric emergency, hemorrhaging, syncopal episode, change in mental status, extremity pain, unconscious person, overdose, diabetic emergency, hypotension, subject down, seizures, abdominal pain, accident w/ injury, maternity, cerebro vascular event, psychiatric emergency.
Automatic Fire Alarm
Morton, in the 200 block of Bridge St. for a possible alarm sounding for 10-15 minutes. Nether Providence Twp., at 200 South Providence Rd. for smoke from the Maintenance Building lunch room.
Automobile
Swarthmore, at 121 Park Ave (rear) in front of the firehouse, for a trash truck with contents burning (reported two weeks ago in The Swarthmorean).
Building
Swarthmore, at 500 College Ave. PPR Apts. for an oven fire (reported in last week’s Swarthmorean). Morton, in the 500 block of School St. for an oven already extinguished w/smoke condition.
Hazmat
Swarthmore, in the 300 block of Ogden Ave. for a carbon monoxide detector activation. Nether Providence Twp., in the 700 block of Salem Ct. for a CO & gas alarm going off simultaneously.

Two each to Morton/Rutledge and Nether Providence Twp.
