Outdoor Yoga to Support Hope for Hallie

Ann MacMullan from Team Sun Wellness is partnering with the Hope for Hallie Foundation to provide a free outdoor yoga session on Sunday, May 23, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Umoja Park. Hope for Hallie is a nonprofit committed to promoting mental health awareness through sport.

Board Seeks Input on School Calendar, Vows to Fight Racism

The Wallingford-Swarthmore School Board wants input from the school community. The Board asked Superintendent Lisa Palmer to prepare a survey to be emailed to families (which you may have already received). The results will inform the board’s decision about whether and how to revise the 2020-21 school calendar. Also, Board president David Grande announced the creation of two new diversity and inclusion committees, one community-wide and the other a school board committee. 

From the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District

Dr. Kristopher Brown will be leaving his position as principal of Strath Haven High School (SHHS) in January 2020. In her report at the Wallingford-Swarthmore School Board meeting on Monday night, Superintendent Lisa A. Palmer announced that she hopes to fill the position on an interim basis with someone from within the district. She anticipates naming an interim principal in the next few weeks.
