Helen Kate Furness Free Library Fundraisers
The Helen Kate Furness Free Library is hosting two fundraisers in the next few weeks: a raffle for cash to assist with home improvements, and family photo shoots.
The winner of the “The Great Renovate” raffle will receive a cash prize of $2,500 and a list of local teams who could make your home renovation dreams a reality. Tickets are $25 each, or five for $100, and are available for purchase online at: charityauction.bid/HKFRaffle. The drawing will take place on Monday, April 5.
The library is also partnering with Rachel Kessler Photography to offer 15-minute mini-photoshoots for families at Furness Park. Five or six edited images will be delivered digitally after the shoot. Sessions cost $100. Families can also purchase a personalized wooden family name-sign, made by Zwitch Way Designs, for an additional $20. Sign up for a session and order a sign. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the library.
Roughly 40% of the library’s annual operating budget comes from fundraising and donations. Due to the pandemic, many of its traditional fundraisers have been cancelled. The library is relying on the generosity of those who can make a contribution to support its operations. Those contributions help the library continue to achieve its mission: to bring lifelong learning, discovery, and joy to the community it serves.
