Going, Going, Gone: Community Donates to Library Benefit Auction
On the evening of January 6, Briggsauction.com will open online bidding to the public in an auction to raise funds for the Swarthmore Public Library.
Unlike a typical in-person auction, there will be no nods or holding up of paddles. “An online auction will be very different. But just as exciting!” says Betty Dowling, president of Friends of Swarthmore Public Library,
People who wish to participate can set up an account, sign in, then take a week to bid, review their bid, monitor other bids, and (if they desire) increase their bid.
On Wednesday, January 13, beginning at 11 a.m., the lots will begin to close at a cascading rate of three lots per minute.
Briggs Auction, Inc. is a four-generation, family-owned-and-operated auction house that has been rooted in Delaware County since 1932. Its online bidding platform has more than 4,800 users.
