Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Guernsey Road for a reported single vehicle accident. An investigation determined that the operator of the vehicle was traveling west on Ogden Avenue, became distracted, and jumped the curb, striking a “No Parking” sign and a telephone pole. The vehicle sustained damage that required it to be towed, but no injuries occurred as a result of the collision.

September 3, 7:50 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Westminster Ave., where a vehicle owner reported parking on the preceding evening at approximately 8 p.m. The next morning, the vehicle owner noticed a large dent in both driver side doors. It is unknown who was responsible, and anyone having information on the crash should contact the Swarthmore Borough Police Department at 610-543-0123.

On August 12 at 8:35 a.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Yale and Rutgers avenues for an accident with possible injuries. The officers’ investigation and statements from both operators showed that the driver of a car traveling north on Rutgers Ave. attempted to cross over Yale Ave., thinking that Yale Ave. traffic had a stop sign. As the car pulled out of Rutgers Ave., it was struck by the car traveling east on Yale Ave. Both cars sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene. The operator of the car traveling on Yale Ave. suffered a minor injury to her arm, and was transported to Springfield Hospital for follow-up care.
