Accidents
June 19, 1:55 p.m.: Two cars were driving south on S. Chester Road approaching the roundabout. The front car stopped abruptly for a pedestrian entering the roadway. The second car, failing to react fast enough, hit the car in front. No one was hurt, and both cars were driven from the scene.
July 2, 5:15 p.m.: Two cars were driving south on S. Chester Road approaching University Place. The first car stopped for traffic, but the second car failed to stop in time and struck the first car. No one was hurt, and both cars were driven from the scene.
July 3, 6:41 p.m.: A motorcycle heading south on Swarthmore Avenue lost control on the curve of the 100 block. The motorcycle slid and hit a utility pole. The driver’s arms were abraded, and he was transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center for treatment. The cycle had to be towed from the scene.
Theft and Burglary
The police department received several reports of thefts of yard signs. Between June 24 - 28, several residents had “Black Lives Matter” signs removed from their property. Police are investigating and have identified a person of interest. Please call 911 to report similar incidents.
On July 1, at 4:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of N. Princeton Ave to investigate a burglary. The front door had been forced open, but no one was on the premises. Police are investigating.
