Accidents

  • Nov. 25, 4:30 p.m.: A crash occurred at the intersection of South Chester and Fairview roads when a southbound car came to a stop at the red light and was rear-ended by the car behind it. No injuries, but both cars sustained minor damage.

  • Dec. 2, 4:44 p.m.: A second crash occurred at the same intersection. This time a northbound car hit a southbound car turning left into the Gulf station. No injuries, but both cars sustained minor damage.

  • Dec 6: 3 p.m.: A crash occurred at the intersection of North Chester Road and Ogden Avenue. A southbound car on Chester Road struck a westbound car on Ogden as it tried to cross Chester. No injuries, but one car had to be towed.

  • Dec. 6, 3:30 p.m.: Police were informed of an overnight hit-and-run in the parking lot of 801 Yale Ave. The hit car sustained minor damage. If you have information, please call the Swarthmore Borough Police at 610-543-0123.

Cars Broken Into

Several cars were entered overnight during the weekend of Nov. 29 and 30 and minor items, like spare change, were taken. The incidents occurred on and around Westminster and Cornell avenues. Medical Emergencies

Police responded to ten medical emergencies during this period, assisting medics and the Swarthmore ambulance.

Alarms

Police responded to nine alarm calls including false burglar alarms, fire alarms, and panic alarms.
