Sonnet: For Today
Sometimes in life we are asked to stay Right where
we are, around loved ones and friends. This time of
pause allows for reflection and may, Unite the
United, until it ends.
Will We The People return the same? I
wish I knew the answer, or someone,
Anyone, could tell us more than remain “Socially distanced!” This has begun,
And who knows what’s to come, but I believe In
miracles and the power of people. Hard lessons
will be taught, and some will bereave. Change will
come, and like a bald eagle
We’ll soar, above the fray and strong
Away from chaos, jubilant in song.
