Covanta fumes are not so easily fixed

Would that life were as simple as was suggested by the letter writer from Rutledge (March 19), regarding the toxic fumes from Covanta’s incinerator in Chester. Just use available technology, he says. Wonder why nobody has thought of that, in all the decades that the smoke coming out of that incinerator has been causing horrendous health problems.

Food donations appreciated

It’s not easy being a restaurateur these days of pandemic lockdowns and stay-at-home mandates. But one Swarthmore restaurant has been using the occasion to send meals to those in need in Chester. Occasionally Yours is making regular deliveries to the food pantry at Chester Eastside, Inc.

What about water quality?

To date, the discussions of Aqua Pennsylvania’s attempt to take over water supply and sanitation operations now under Chester Water Authority (serving Swarthmore and other communities in Delaware and Chester counties) and Delcora (the organization dealing with wastewater in the region) have focused on the cost to ratepayers, not the quality of the product coming out of our faucets.
