To the Editor,

I’m relieved to see that the college is holding a deer-culling operation this Fall. I’ve attached a photo of part of a family in our yard. The quite large doe is on the left of the two new young members—I suspect one is a young buck, as it performed some warning actions as I approached.

The college indicates that COVID-19 protocols will be followed. Has anybody told the deer about that?  It transpires* that about 30% of the Pennsylvania and New York deer population may be asymptomatic carriers of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
