Not the post office’s fault
To the Swarthmorean,
A letter last week stated that a voter’s mail-in ballot took 20 days to arrive. I’m guessing that the writer based the calculation on the date given in the PA State Ballot Tracking system that allows voters to find out the status of their mail-in request.
But—due to a programming glitch at the state level, all the ballot statuses showed that voters’ ballots went out on September /29, when in fact the county did not start sending out ballots until October 12 for absentees, and on October 15, mail-in ballots started going out in batches. From what I’ve heard people were getting their ballots within a day or two.
An aggravating situation, but one that wasn’t the Post Office’s fault.
