Supportive and caring Swarthmore police

Supportive and caring Swarthmore police

To the Editor,

So much is happening in our country right now. We are deeply moved to see the growing awareness of the historical injustice to people of color. Much is written about police brutality, and it reminds us of how fortunate we are to have our wonderful Swarthmore police department.

Chief Raymond Stufflet

During the last three years of his life, our husband and step-father Edmund Jones had frequent balance problems. It was an enormous comfort to us that someone from either the police, fire department, or ambulance corps was always there to help him up with a strong arm and a friendly smile. We are so grateful to them and feel blessed that Swarthmore’s police department is led by the remarkable Chief Raymond Stufflet. Issues big and small, our family has always found them to be so supportive and caring.
