Wrong way parking enforcement

Wrong way parking enforcement

To the Editor:

My family and I are extremely disappointed that Swarthmore council voted to enforce the new street parking policy, in which all cars must face the same direction. While we understand that it’s a state law due to safety concerns, we also know that not every town has to enforce it.

Recently, I parked in the wrong direction in front of my house, as I was in an extreme rush. When I returned to my car less that an hour later, I found a ticket on my windshield. It goes without saying that I was quite angry.

This policy is a true annoyance and an inconvenience — not only for me, but for several others with whom I’ve spoken. Therefore, we will not be lending our support to said councilmen/councilwomen going forward.
