To the Community:

Do you want to help improve the nature trails of Rose Valley?

The Rose Valley Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) is organizing a volunteer trail improvement project in the Saul Wildlife Preserve behind the Old Mill. The purpose is to eliminate muddy spots on the trail by distributing gravel.

Work will start on Monday, July 15, and take five to six days, with volunteer teams working between the hours of 8 a.m. and noon. If you’d like to help, please bring a rake and/or hoe and a pair of gloves. Gravel will be distributed by motorized wheelbarrow.

There are lots of jobs for all levels of ability: preparing the trail bed, laying out filter fabric, loading the wheelbarrow, smoothing out the gravel, etc. There will be snacks and lunch.

If you would like to lend a hand, come out for a few hours, or a few days, whatever you can manage. I am the project leader; please contact me at jimaudley@aol.com to sign up.
