Swarthmore Fire & Protective Association Report (March 8-21)
In this two-week period, the ambulance responded to 38 calls for medical assistance, to Swarthmore, Rutledge, Morton, Springfield, Media, Nether Providence Township, and Ridley Township. The calls were for a variety of emergencies, including three active COVID-19 cases, fall with trauma, seizures, accident with entrapment, accident with injury, allergic reaction, and cardiac arrest.
In addition, the fire company responded to:
One building alarm, in the unit block of Park Avenue, for white smoke coming from the building.
Five automobile alarms, including two in Nether Providence Township: one at Turner Road and Baltimore Pike for a two-vehicle accident with entrapment, and one at Baltimore Pike and the I-476 underpass for a car accident with injuries.
One hazmat alarm for a strong smell of natural gas near Westminster Avenue and Bullens Lane in Nether Providence.
Four automatic alarms.
Seven mutual aid calls to Morton, Nether Providence Township, and Springfield.
