Do You Enjoy Looking at Beautiful Plants?

If you answered yes to any of those questions (and live in Swarthmore), then sign up for a free Home Eco-Audit during National Pollinator Week, June 21 through 27.

Volunteers from the Swarthmore Horticultural Society and Swarthmore Environmental Advisory Council are ready to give you the tools you need to make your yard more ecologically beneficial. A volunteer will walk around your property with you and help identify invasive species, offer native plant recommendations to support birds and pollinators, and provide resources for further information.

The Eco-Audit is in-line with best practices recommended by the “Pennsylvania Pollinator Friendly Garden” certification. After the audit, you may choose to submit an application for certification, or continue to work towards that goal.

Please email EACSwarthmore@gmail.com by June 20 to get matched with a volunteer.

The Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) advises Borough Council and educates the citizens of the borough on matters that affect the quality of the environment in the borough, including those relating to the protection, conservation, management, promotion, and use of natural resources.

The Swarthmore Horticultural Society (SHS) is a volunteer organization dedicated to enhancing Swarthmore’s public landscapes. The mission of SHS is: To create and maintain high quality horticultural gardens in public spaces in order to beautify Swarthmore and to promote an understanding of the value of plants and  the environment within our community.
