SHS ‘42 Report
W. Marshall Schmidt of Princeton, New Jersey, formerly of Swarthmore, sent this report on the Swarthmore High School class of 1942:
Lew and Peggy Beatty — still basking in the memories of their 70th anniversary last fall.
Ruthie Servais Weir — son George reports Ruthie still goes to dancing sessions — Jim must be close to his 100th birthday.
Mary Yates Gilcreest Warner’s aide promised she will call me on her next “good” day.
Loyal Joe Harant — lifestyle’s pretty much the same — just less vigorous.
Bob Gemmill — remains active — his voice belies his age.
Margaret Dimmitt Walsh — last fall she told of the pleasure she gets going to downtown Doylestown.
Scribe — me.
Also in the mix — three loyal widows: Eunice Gary, Pauly Dodd, and Barbara Balch, the last of whom moved to Midlothian, Virginia, earlier this year.
