Delco Strong ‘Rapid Response’ Grants Available Now
Delaware County is offering financial support, through its “Delco Strong: Rapid Response” program, to businesses that are directly affected by the county’s new COVID-19 mitigation mandate (issued on December 10 and continuing through January 4). Using funds made available by the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the Delaware County Council will provide $4 million in grants to support businesses in two categories: those who are able to remain open to a limited extent by modifying their regular business practices; and those who must temporarily close their doors to comply with current public health guidelines but continue to incur overhead costs. Businesses may receive up to $40,000.
Previous Delco Strong grantees, as well as first-time applicants, are eligible to apply. (Previous grantees will have fewer application steps to complete.) Applications can be made on the program’s website until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28.
