Unscientific Survey: Where Do You Get Your Bottles?
As previously noted, the local wine-buying options have significantly opened up recently, hence our Unscientific Survey asking where you procure your vino. For picking up a bottle or two, a plurality of respondents said they head out of state. (We didn’t specify where out of state; for two options, see the comments below.)
But putting a local spin on the question, that number gets beaten when we combine those who favor the recently licensed Co-op (20%) and small purveyors like Village Vine and 320 Market Café (11%). Presumably, those numbers will rise when people get acquainted with the offerings at these places.
For buying six bottles or more (not allowed in the Co-op, supermarkets, and small Pennsylvania outlets) it was a pretty close three-way race, with mail-order defeating out-of-state retailers and Fine Wine & Spirits outlets.

Next Unscientific Survey: Sleep
Sleep: Can’t live without it, can’t quite get enough of it. Judging by media reports and conversations with family and friends, the pandemic’s collateral damage has included an assault on shut-eye. True, most of the commuters among us don’t have to be out of the house to beat the morning rush, and kids don’t have to be dressed and out the door for school bright and early every morning, but the new realities haven’t seemed to translate into repose. Bottom line: Stress and anxiety have taken their toll.
