On Sunday, May 5, works by 21 student artists from Strath Haven High School were displayed at the 2019 Congressional Art Competition Show for the 5th District of Pennsylvania. The show at Utility Works in Lansdowne featured 133 works created by students from 12 area high schools.

At the reception, Congresswoman (and Swarthmorean) Mary Gay Scanlon recognized student winners in each category of two-dimensional work, chosen by professional artist judges. The Strath Haven Art Department is proud to announce that six of our students won awards. Award winners from each category were invited to display their work for the next year in Congresswoman Scanlon’s local office.
