Elmer Daniels (2nd from right) was released from a Delaware prison last year, with assistance from (L to R) attorney Herb Mondros, lead attorney Emeka Igwe, and lead investigator Terence Jones.

Elmer Daniels was released in December, 2018 from Howard R. Young Correctional Institute in Wilmington, Del. It was the day after his 57th birthday, and the first day he had spent as a free man since turning 18. After serving 39 years in prison for a crime he did not commit, Daniels is living and working in Elkton, Md. A fundraiser this Saturday night at waR3house3 will raise money to help Mr. Daniels buy a used car. A donation of at $20 per person is suggested.

Performing at the event will be singer-songwriter Matt Wenger of Lancaster, and Out of Order, a band fronted by Swarthmorean Herb Mondros, who worked with Innocence Delaware to secure Daniels’s exoneration and release. Doors open at 7 p.m. at waR3house3, which as usual welcomes you to enjoy light fare (included) and beverage (BYOB). The joint is at 100 Park Avenue, Suite WH3 and war3house3.com.
