Accidents

  • February 22, 8:02 a.m.: A car heading east on Dartmouth Avenue was turning left onto Swarthmore Avenue when it hit a car already traveling north on Swarthmore Avenue. Medics treated a minor injury at the scene. One car had to be towed.

  • February 22, 11:12 a.m.: A car driving down snow-covered Yale Avenue tried to turn onto Vassar Avenue but slid off the road, striking a road sign. No one was hurt. The car sustained minor damage but could be driven from the scene.

  • February 24, 9:46 a.m.: A vehicle was backing out of a driveway in the 100 block of Princeton Avenue when it struck a car on the roadway. No one was hurt, and neither car had to be towed.

  • February 24, 9:54 a.m.: A car owner reported a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Myers and Park avenues, where the car had been parked overnight. The front fender and mirror were damaged. Anyone with information is asked to call the Swarthmore Borough Police Department at 610-543-0123.
