Great things are happening at Swarthmore Ballet Theatre!

Dear Swarthmore,

There have been rumors circulating that our beautiful old theater will be torn down and replaced. The truth is the Swarthmore Ballet Theatre building has been renovated!

We are excited to announce that our resident non-profit ballet company, The Lori Ardis Ballet, has hired our local lighting expert Billy Hodges to replace all the old stage lighting. Hodges and his company, Digital Filaments, have installed a high-tech computer driven system of LED stage lighting. This creates incredibly dynamic lighting that will change and accentuate the mood of the ballets with seamless color changes.

The flooring on the main level of Swarthmore Ballet Theatre has been beautifully refinished. This had the added benefit of creating two lobby areas, one for entering and one for leaving.

Swarthmore Ballet is thrilled to be back with in-person classes. Dancers have been spreading their wings on our new floors since July with the Summer Intensive in full swing. Fall classes for the tiny 3-year-olds to the amazing teenagers and the enthusiastic adults are going strong.

As always, we have a special place in our hearts for our Nutcracker ballet coming up in December.

We hope to see you there!
