To the Editor,

We are delighted to report that Luminaria 2020 was a tremendous success, raising over $40,000 for A Better Chance Strath Haven (ABC) and other local non-profit organizations. This good work could not happen without the involvement and support of our Wallingford-Swarthmore School District (WSSD) Community.

THANK YOU:

To everyone who participated by purchasing luminaria.

To the energetic student members of the Strath Haven High School Luminaria Club, neighbors, and friends who assembled 24,000 luminaria kits, sorted orders, and aided distribution.

To our area coordinators and (125!) block captains who managed and facilitated ordering and distribution in their neighborhoods.

To Swarthmore College for letting us transform “The Mansion” into “The Factory,” thereby providing a space for streamlined luminaria production, storage, and distribution. To the WSSD community for making this a place where thousands of ordinary bags of candles and sand transform the New Year’s first night into magic.... and make a lasting impact.

Sincerely,
The Luminaria Fundraiser Committee
