To the Editor:
A bit of school district trivia. In fact, the first assistant superintendent of the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District was Harry W. Kingham.
Dr. Kingham was superintendent of the Swarthmore-Rutledge Union School District at the time of its merger with the Nether Providence School District to form the W-SSD in 1971. At the time of the merger he became assistant superintendent of the new school district, a position in which he served until 1979. I had the privilege of working with Dr. Kingham during my years on the school board (1975-1987).
