Swarthmore Fire & Protective Association Report (July 26-August 8)
EMS
The ambulance responded to 44 calls for medical assistance. These were to Swarthmore, Rutledge, Morton, Springfield, Ridley Twp. and Nether Providence Twp. The calls were for a variety of emergencies including: respiratory emergency, sick person, fall w/trauma, semi-conscious person, unconscious person, change in mental status, hemorrhaging, syncopal episode, hypertension, accident w/injury, back pain, other BLS emergency, cerebrovascular event, subject down, allergic reaction, abdominal pain, diabetic emergency, assault, medical alarm, seizures, nature unknown, and cardiac arrest.

Swarthmore (5): 10 block of Guernsey Rd. for both fire & carbon monoxide alarms; 300 block of S. Chester Rd. for an accident alarm trip; 300 block of Rutgers Ave. a 1st fl. smoke detector activation; 300 block of N. Swarthmore Ave. for a 3rd fl. smoke detector; and 600 block of N. Chester Rd. for a dining room detector activation(system in trouble). Nether Providence Twp. (2): 10 block of Wallingford Ave. for a zone 6 smoke detector activation; and 200 block of S. Providence Rd. for a 1st fl. smoke alarm. Morton (2): 200 block of Main St. for a smoke detector activation; and 409 Baltimore Pike for a smoke detector activation.

Nether Providence Twp.: 100 block of S. Providence Rd. for smoke on the 2nd fl.
Vehicle
Morton: Mitchell & S. Morton Ave. for an accident with a left arm injury. Springfield Twp.: West Ave. and Providence Rd. for an accident with injuries and bleeding from the head.
Hazmat Alarm
Nether Providence Twp.: 300 block of Scott Lane for a broken value on a leaking propane tank next to the house.
