Unscientific Survey: How Do You Like to Watch?
As usual, Swarthmorean readers are ahead of the curve. A national study shows that about 24% of households have “cut the cord” — that is, watch television by other means than paying for cable or satellite services. (That’s up from 19% in 2019.)
In our latest Unscientific Survey, 36% of respondents self-identified as cord-cutters (or “cord nevers”) who watch either by streaming services or old-school antennas. Another 7% kick it really old school and pretty much don’t watch TV at all. That leaves only 53% who pay for cable or satellite services — well below the national average.
