Something to Watch: A Trio of Movies for Valentine’s Day

Something to Watch: A Trio of Movies for Valentine’s Day

When my husband and I were younger, Valentine’s Day often involved a fancy dinner and a night out on the town. Now it’s usually spent cutting out paper hearts with kids, snuggling on the couch eating popcorn, and watching a movie once the kids are all in bed. To be honest, I prefer the quiet nights spent at home.

No matter how you celebrate Valentine’s Day, here are three movies to watch this weekend.

Malcolm & Marie

John David Washington and Zendaya star in this movie about a young filmmaker and his girlfriend reckoning with underlying issues and disturbing revelations.

“Malcolm & Marie” is available on Netflix.

Bliss

Sci-fi meets romantic comedy as a woman (Salma Hayek) tries to convince a man she’s just met (Owen Wilson) that the world around them is nothing more than a computer simulation.

“Bliss” is available on Prime Video.

Over the Moon

This is an animated movie the whole family can enjoy. Inspired by her mother’s stories of Chang’e, the moon goddess, Fei Fei builds a rocket to the moon to convince everyone of the goddess’s existence.

“Over the Moon” is available on Netflix.
