Developers Present Revised Plans to Planning Commission, Public Offers Comment
On the evening of October 20, 2021, members of the community gathered at the Swarthmore Borough Hall for a presentation by the developers of a planned condominium project on Park Avenue in Swarthmore. 26 people took the microphone to share their thoughts on the project — many in opposition, some in support, and some in between. If you weren’t able to make the meeting, The Swarthmorean was there for you, as always.
At the meeting, Michael McCloskey from architecture firm Bernardon presented updated renderings of the proposed condominium project based upon feedback the development team received from the community.
Notable changes to the plan include the addition of a third retail space (which the developers announced would now be leased instead of sold), the “ganging” of retail spaces beside one another, the elimination of a two-way garage entrance in favor of one that is a single vehicle wide, and numerous facade modifications. We’ll have more details on the updates presented this week as well as community feedback in next week’s issue.
