Beyond Pumpkins
Swarthmore’s first-ever Halloween House Decorating Contest starts now. In a year when many families are opting not to trick-or-treat or attend Halloween parties because of COVID-19, the contest will “foster some fun and community spirit,” says Swarthmore Borough Council member Sarah Graden.
Cosponsored by Swarthmore Borough, the Swarthmore Recreation Association, and Swarthmore Town Center, the contest is free to enter. Swarthmore residents can register until October 27. Judging will take place October 28 - 30.
Prizes for first, second, and third place will be awarded. Photos of the winning houses will be published in the Swarthmorean.
