Caving Expeditions at Scott Arboretum with Thomas Hawkins
Caves have been used by people and animals for thousands of years for shelter, burials, religious ceremonies, and as links to the underworld. More recently, the exploration of caves for science, adventure, and sport has pushed the limits of the unknown. Cave explorer Thomas Hawkins will recount some of his adventures from Guatemala to Borneo, Hawaii, Mexico, and Kyrgyzstan, offering glimpses into deep time, both geological and biological.
A reception will follow with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
To register: 610-328-8025 or scottarboretum.org. Tickets are $25.00 per person. The event will be held on Saturday, January 25, 4 - 7 p.m. at the Inn at Swarthmore, 10 S. Chester Road.
