Delco Master Gardeners Plan Fall Fest
Garden lovers, unite — and come to the 16th annual fall fest put on by the Delaware County Master Gardeners at Smedley Park at Baltimore Pike and the Blue Route. September 28 is a full day, during which you can learn about your garden and the green world around you, pick up practical horticultural techniques, and enjoy shopping for plants, tools, and home-baked goods.
There is no charge for admission to the sale; you can register for up to three of the various lectures and workshops offered throughout the day at $5 to $20 each. Workshops throughout the day are open from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; pre-registration is recommended for topics including perennials, composting, fern propagation, tool maintenance, and several craft workshops. Those who preregister can also order lunch for $10. Master gardeners will be on hand to answer burning questions about plants and garden problems, including pests like stink bugs, the emerald ash borer, and new arrival the spotted lantern fly.
The registration form is available here. For more information, you can also call 877-345-0691. Deadline for registration is September 23.
