The Fall 2019 Swarthmore Makers Market unfurls on Park Avenue and S. Chester Road in front of the Inn at Swarthmore on Sunday, November 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Twice per year since 2015, the Makers Market gathers together local artisans and their handmade creations in an effort to promote shopping locally and supporting local artists, many of whom live right here in Swarthmore.

After receiving a record number of applicants, organizers chose 53 unique artisans for the Fall Market. The products of their talent and craft include jewelry, ceramics, woodworking, paper design, home textiles, handbags, soaps, candles, and much more. The participants include mainstays like Sawdust Siren and newcomers to the art scene including Abby Dawes of A Slice of Home. Both of whom call Swarthmore home.

The open air market will also feature live music by Swarthmorean Herb Mondros and Out of Order. Visitors should also plan to come hungry: the market will host a number of sweet and savory eats from local food vendors including Hobbs Coffee, Allie the Baker, Waffles for Tourette, and Mom Mom’s Polish Food Cart. The Campus and Community Store will once again host a craft station where you can design and decorate a t-shirt.

This Swarthmore Town Center event is organized and sponsored by The Swarthmore Farmers Market team and local business owners Shannon Elliott of Harvey Oak Mercantile and Martha Perkins of Gallery on Park. Other Swarthmore businesses are open during the event, so plan to come and explore all that the borough has to offer.
