DCYO and YMO Set Fall Youth Concerts
The Delaware County Youth Orchestra and the Young Musicians Orchestra have announced the Fall concerts of their 2019-2020 season.
On Sunday, November 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center, Upper Darby High School, 601 N. Lansdowne Avenue in Drexel Hill, DCYO will present its fall concert. Maestro Andrew Hauze will conduct Bizet’s Carmen Suite, Delibes’ Suite from Sylvia, and Grieg’s Symphonic Dances.
On Sunday, November 24, at 3 p.m., the Young Musicians’ Orchestra, directed by Maestri Nicholas Pignataro and Miko Shiota, will conduct its fall concert at the Strath Haven Middle School, 200 South Providence Road in Wallingford. The concert will include Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite II & I, (arr. M. Isaacs), Copeland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, (arr. R. Longfield), Dvořák’s Slavonic Dance No. 1, (arr. M. Isaac), and Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet, (arr. J. Müller).
Concert admission is free; donations are welcome.
